Description
Candelabra Aloe Variegated
Botanical Name: Aloe arborescens varigata
Common Names: Candelabra Aloe Variegated, Candelabra Plant, Krantz Aloe, Mountain Bush Aloe, Octopus Aloe, Shrub Aloe, Torch Aloe, Tree Aloe.
The Variegated Candelabra Aloe consists of multiple long, thin leaves with serrated margins which are typically a lighter green or even yellow depending on the climate. The alternate variegation will vary between plants, but will typically have white to yellow stripes along the length of the leaves. When in bloom this Aloe will develop a tall stem with a cluster of elongated apricot coloured flowers.
Mature plants will spread and grow into large bushes creating beautiful hedging plants. This Aloe will also thrive when contained in pots or smaller growing spaces. No matter how this plant is grown, the Candelabra Aloe creates a beautiful display, especially when in bloom.
The Candelabra Aloe is native to South Africa where it thrives in tropical climates. This can be replicated by placing in a sunny position, allowing the plant to dry out between deep watering and keeping drier in the winters.
