Description
Tall, multi-branched spiny and shiny looking shrub which can become quite tall. Dark green in colour, stems are erect, ridged and constricted into segments. Rudimentary reddish leaves, but has ornamental whitish-green marbled markings on branches. Very easy to care for. Needs a little care to establish itself, but then remains very self-sufficient, though it does need weekly watering. However, overwatering can be fatal.
Give this spurge partial light, preferably bright shade for most of the day, and well-draining soil. Native to tropical Asia, and has a variety of common names, including Mottled Spurge, Frilled Fan, Elkhorn, Dragon Bones Tree, Dragon Bones, Candelabra Spurge, Candelabra Cactus, Caper Spurge, Candle Stick Tree, False Cactus and Hat Rack Cactus.
NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
