A hybrid of Echeveria and Sedum, Darley Dale forms petite, compact green rosettes with small long leaves, growing on a trailing stem winding along the ground or spilling out of containers. Rosettes contract in the cooler season and widen in spring/summer. These are tiny , only growing to a height and width of 5cm before clustering.
With soft pastel green coloured foliage tinged in orange/pink margins, with colours intensifying over cooler season, they’ve become very popular among decorators and have found particular favour on the wedding scene, used in boutonnieres and as table centrepieces. But they can also make a beautiful addition to a succulent garden or rockery. Likes full sun to part shade in a warm, dry climate. Very low-maintenance plant, you can keep it in a pot, planter or garden bed where it will require minimal watering if in porous, well drained soil.
