Gold Mound

A beautifully textured Mexican stonecrop known as Gold Mound, this fleshy evergreen groundcover is a cultivar which forms a dense mat of needle-like chartreuse-coloured leaves together with masses of yellow, star-shaped flowers. Growing to about 25cm tall and 60cm wide, it creates a colour-popping, textured carpet that is wonderful in landscaping. Colour changing, its leaves will be bright gold in sunny positions but will take on a lime-green hue in shade.

A bestseller thanks to its versatility, its trailing habit makes it perfect for containers and hanging baskets where it spills over edges. It also works very well in borders as edging and in rockeries. This is an easy-care, tough plant which loves heat and can tolerate dryness, wind and salt. Very little maintenance is required beyond ensuring soil is well-draining and giving regular minimal watering.
