- Other Known Names: Coppertone Stonecrop, Sedum nussbaumerianum, Orange Delight
- Genus: Sedum
- Species: nussbaumerianum
Aesthetic Description
Gold Sedum is succulent sunshine. Its elongated leaves grow in dense, open rosettes, glowing with coppery gold tones in bright conditions. New growth starts green and warms to orange as the plant matures or becomes sun-stressed. The trailing stems create a soft cascade of glowing foliage, and tiny white flowers may appear like sparkles above the amber mass. It’s warm, welcoming, and absolutely impossible to overlook in a sunny spot.
Scientific Description
Sedum nussbaumerianum is a shrubby, mat-forming succulent native to Mexico. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family and grows in low, branching stems with thick, spatulate leaves. The plant produces white, star-shaped flowers and exhibits intense orange pigmentation when exposed to full sun or temperature fluctuations.
