A protected species native to India and Myanmar, this open-crowned evergreen succulent shrub has the common names Leafy Milk Hedge, Holy Milk Hedge, Dog’s Tongue and Indian Spurge Tree. It is a freely branching, spiny, tree-like plant reaching heights of up to 9m tall and 1m wide in nature, though in cultivation grows much smaller. Featuring thick rough bark, stalkless fleshy green leaves that are spoon-shaped or lance-shaped and rounded at the tips, and reddish flowers on short stalks.

Grown for its interesting texture and is used in landscaping to create fascinating hedges. Likes full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil as well as regular, light watering.

NOTE: Euphorbia’s are for ornamental purposes only. The milky sap can be toxic and can cause adverse reactions if it comes into contact with the skin or eyes. Do not ingest. Euphorbias do not typically require pruning or maintenance, but take care when handling.
