Rose Quartz

Echinopsis ‘Rose Quartz’, commonly known as Rose Quartz, is a hybrid cactus celebrated for its stunning floral display. This plant is characterized by its globular, green stem that can grow both in height and width over time. The surface of the stem is dotted with areoles from which sharp spines emerge, giving it a classic cactus appearance.

What truly sets the Rose Quartz apart is its breathtaking flowers. These blooms are large, funnel-shaped, and come in a delicate shade of pink, reminiscent of the rose quartz gemstone, hence its name. The flowers typically open in the late afternoon and can last for a day or two, often emitting a pleasant fragrance.

Native to South America, Echinopsis ‘Rose Quartz’ thrives in well-draining soil and requires full sun to partial shade. Like most cacti, it’s drought-tolerant and prefers to be watered sparingly. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so it’s essential to let the soil dry out completely between waterings.

In terms of precautions, while the Rose Quartz cactus is not known to be toxic, its spines can be sharp. It’s advisable to handle with care and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Its striking blooms and easy-care nature make the Echinopsis ‘Rose Quartz’ a popular choice for both indoor and outdoor gardens, especially among cactus and succulent enthusiasts.
