String Of Lanterns

Sometimes called String of Lanterns or String of Pearls, this Senecio is one of the charming and whimsical varieties prized for its trailing cascades of round, bead-like leaves held on long, slender stems reaching up to a metre long. An exotic looking plant which is an easy grower, it is perfect for beginners or succulent enthusiasts alike.

Its unique foliage makes it an amazing subject for a hanging pot. This Senecio is very similar to its cousin, String of Tears, but has larger, more bulbous leaves. It is drought tolerant and enjoys minimal watering, provided it has fast-draining soil. Place in a position of moderate to full sun, or if grown indoors, give bright light.

Native to Africa.
