A pretty evergreen succulent from South Africa. A small plant growing to about 30cm tall and up to 60cm wide, it is very neat in appearance with smooth, short, broad leaves that are compactly organised on short stems. Leaves are mid-green and taper to the tip, and younger leaves are characterised by small white dots on the margins. Older leaves will wither away to expose the intricate stems. It also bears many pyramid shaped sprays of milky-white, star-like fragrant flowers which look very effective en masse.
A great beginner plant that is low maintenance and grows fast in a range of growing conditions. It takes full sun or shade and enjoys a well-drained, mineral soil. Water moderately but take care not to overwater. Great for borders, edging, groundcover, filler, mass plantings as well as being suited to containers, where its trailing habit will see it spill over edges.
Common names vary and include: Tailor’s Patch, Knysna Crassula, White Crassula, Snowy Crassula, White Many-flowering Crassula, Taylor’s Parches.
