Care Instructions

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid harsh direct sunlight. Indoor suitable.
  • Watering: Allow soil to dry out completely in between heavy watering.
  • Soil: Good quality potting mix mixed with some sand or a good quality succulent specific potting mix. Allow container to be completely free draining.
  • Feeding: As a generalisation, succulents do not require much feeding, but can be fed most fertilizers at 50% dilution or half strength of product instructions. Fertilizers commonly used on Zygocactus include slow release fertiliser pebbles, thrive, seasol, and any water soluble fertilizers.
  • Repotting: Not needed unless it completely outgrows it’s space or becomes top heavy in a container. Repot to suit its positioning and always choose a well draining, shady position.
  • Origins: Epiphytic succulent from the tropical jungles of Brazil.
